Miracle on the mountain top…..

Even the Gods will second this thought ….rather an ideology about what shall be the best thing a father can endow upon his daughter (s).

No amount of money, no amount of ancestral heritage and even no amount of love can suffice for what should in reality a father pass on to his children.

It is written in the sacred books that marrying ones daughter to a suitable groom which is also called “KANYADHAAN” in Hinduism is the biggest responsibility of a able father, but what I would narrate is much bigger than kanyadhaan as well.

Seven thousand feet above sea level is a remote village, untouched by the hoard of urbanization and concrete jungle ideology. The air is pure and pristine, the green covers of mother earth are still intact, and like the nature people are pious in their way of living as well. Simple and sattired. The nearest lifeline of transportation to the town from where things of basic necessities are to be acquired is a staggering seven hours walk through the pebbled and dirt road which has taken its shape out of the footsteps of the villagers walking on since decades.

Right from the British India Era, this village has not seen much of change except for a few noble deeds which has emancipated life of many women and children of this village and a few villages surrounding.

The times when education was limited to a very few lucky children, a young dedicated father took an oath to educate his only son, even if it meant sending him to an exile away from his family and love of his mother. When every boy was expected to help in the daily chores of survival practice like agriculture or cattle rearing, this boy would walk endless miles to reach the bus stop to catch a bus to reach another destination to take a train and then finally reach the Law College to become a lawyer.

A journey which in current times would not even take a day, would take him weeks to attain. This is the story of the beloved father of my subject, on whom I have based this blog to enlighten the thought of a beautiful relation between a father and his daughters.

What does it take for a person to rise from such meager facilities to become a entrepreneur, a philanthropist and above all a father who loves his daughters for what they turned out to be owing to his ideology and his dedication to raise such amazing human beings who have in turn dedicated their lives to pass on the legacy to the world around them.

TERRAS IRRADIENT : LET THEM ILLUMINATE THE WORLD…..

The motto is self explanatory…..

Breswana is a remote Himalayan village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The village is located 7,500 feet (2,300 m) above sea level. Breswana village is accessed via trails from Premnagar, the closest town. Kashmiri is the main language of the area. People also use Urdu as a secondary language.

Hailing from this village a young boy who like his father was blessed with a brilliant mind and a will to change the world around him set out to conquer the world. He worked immensely hard and established a reputation as a entrepreneur. In the path enlightened by his loving wife, they were blessed with three lovely children. Two daughters and a son.

Mr. Nasir Haji. He always says things that always reflect an immense sense of reality and thoughtfulness about life in reality and not in a cosmetized manner. One of his most beautiful gesture is to send a beautiful thought to his friends and people who he likes and one such thought which I recieved recently said ” Live a life to express and not to impress”, which I believe is a motto of his own life in reality as well. A simplicity personified with dignity and a impeccable approach to life has made him a person he is.

Give a proper education to your daughters and see how they change the world around them. Empower them with knowledge which will emancipate their inherent capability of love sharing and caring, and that is perhaps the most important of all the noble deed a father can do….

NASIR HAJI….

The man himself. Founder of HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL….

How thoughtful of him about the most important weapon to be given to lay a foundation for the future to be brighter and better.

INSET IMAGE OF HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL

Funded privately by Haji Family….

With the thought of giving back something significant to the roots from where he emerged, there was nothing better than a gift of education and that was how “HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL” was founded in year 2009

It was perhaps the most important feature required for the future of the Breswana village. Initiated with 35 students in lower and upper kindergarten, the effort has matured to 400 students till grade 9 by 2017.

Despite a very difficult geographic location, the effort has not restricted itself to the wilderness of mountains, but is recognized by the state government to be one of the most prestigious experiments for the emancipation of educating the youth. The success of the school can be gauged by the thought as how modern education can be imparted to students in the most remote and rugged terrains of the country.

The most important feature is how this school runs on a philanthropy of dedication and immense thought process. One susucsusuch example is volunteers across the best schools in country and overseas are visiting as guest faculty members to enlighten the students with immense knowledge and experience around the globe. However so far this entire noble cause is running on the sole dedication and monetary support of HAJI FOUNDATION.

How can we create a system which accommodates the efforts of committed citizens and volunteers who have shown the way in the most trying of circumstances?. How can we support their successful initiatives, so they don’t become a milestone around their necks?

Professor. Amitabh Mattoo. Advisor to chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir..

Its astonishing how such initiate is prevailing in such a remote village. Example is the inset picture of a young girl practicing wall climbing which is one of the featured sport event in world sports front.

Besides facilities like computer laboratories, art and crafts, music and all those avenues which are an integral part of any modern day city schools are a coherent part of HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL.

Education has always been a prime priority in Haji family. On asking Mr. Nasir about his family educational background, he graciously introduced me to his children

“My eldest daughter Sarah is married and has two kids. She has masters in early childhood education and for children with special needs. Followed by my son Noah who has Graduated from Melbourne Monash university.

My youngest daughter Maria has done graduation in English, MA political science from UCLA London and post graduate Teaching course from london and she is also a English teacher
Maria did her teaching degree from Kings college London.”

Whilst SARAH and MARIA are an integral part of the teaching curriculum at Haji Public school, Noah Haji is following the footsteps of his father to expand the family owned business which in turn enhances the monetary part of funding the project.

One of ththe most incredible achievements HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL has achieved is being listed in the SKIP 2028 VISION or STATE KNOWLEDGE INITIATIVE PLATFORM 2028. Its a state government initiative for EDUCATION, ENGAGEMENT & EMPLOYABILITY YEAR 2028.

One of the most prominent names associated with Haji Public School is SABAH HAJI, daughter of Mr.Saleem Haji and Mrs. Tasneem Haji.

Mr. Saleem Haji is the brother of the founder Mr. Nasir Haji. Like his brother he is also a strong believer of the importance of education in a daughters life, that was ththe reason he educated his daughter Sabah Haji in an immaculate manner.

Sabbah Haji finished 10th Grade from The Indian High School, Dubai. She then shifted to Bengaluru in 1997, from where Haji completed her 12th Grade from Bishop Cotton Girls’ School Bengaluru. She completed her Bachelors in Commerce from Christ College, Bengaluru in 2002. Sabbah was Staff Accountant (Audit Trainee) in KPMG, Bangalore (2003-2004); Team Lead (English Support Services) in Deluxe Digital Studios (2005-2007); Content Writer/Copy Editor in Digital Media Convergence Ltd (2007-2008); Managing Editor/Content Writer in Planetsurf Creation Pvt Ltd (2008).

Sabah’s mother Mrs. Tanseem Haji is an educationist with an immense experience of more than 30 years in the state and gulf countries.

Sabah Haji other than teaching the students, is the director of the foundation. She looks after administration, accounts, staff supervision, schools social media presence and most important of all volunteer programme.

Apart from the few regular teaching staff, the school relies heavily on the volunteers coming in from all around the world to teach the kids. The local staff members are capable of teaching till the 2nd grade only. Thus the higher classes require more qualified hands to take care of the children. The school has teaching staff of over 20, including full-time, local teachers as well as long term Indian and international teaching volunteers. The volunteers, who live among the villagers, teach for a period of three months. They spend time with students and make their efforts to erase negative impressions of outsiders through their selfless efforts, hard work, and dedication. The volunteers are not paid, but they are provided with food and lodging

To sum up my thoughts about this amazing effort and a noble cause, sharing below a few video links about this great initiative.

Singning out with a wish that ” if all who have successfully established themselves could carve a path and pave some stones for the future generations, and a chain reaction of positivity and gratitude prevail, this world would be a better, a far better place to live in”.

This is the future HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL is shaping.
